Barefoot Lexington Treeless Dressage Saddles

Exclusive and innovative saddle in the classical Dressage design. This saddle lets the rider feel every movement of the horse's back and his muscles - thus creating a sound foundation for subtle riding. The stirrup attachment can be positioned as needed - therefore the saddle can easily be adjusted to your personal needs and measurements. The 'Lexington' is equipped with a wedge-shaped VPS padding, raising the seat in the rear and thus enabling a straight position for the rider, which is even further supported by the distinct knee-roll.

The rigging is flexible and runs in a V-form, allowing the saddle to be girthed straight even when the girthing area is difficult. Compared to standard Dressage saddles, the 'Lexington' is placed further to the front, positioning the rider directly above the horse's centere of gravity. The horse can more easily balance the rider's weight.

Thanks to the long and slightly wider flap with formed knee-rolls, the rider's leg is securely positioned in a dressage seat. Underneath this support, additional knee-rolls - which are included in two different sizes - can be placed as desired thank to Velcro fastening. Furthermore, the knee-roll support is equipped with AirPumpSystem - air can circulate allowing the knee-roll to conform to the rider's leg even more softly.

This saddle ensures proper support even when hacking-out; therefore it comes with 6 D-Rings to attach saddle blanket and luggage. As with all Barefoot saddles, the Fiberglas-inlay in the front pommel (size medium) can be exchanged.
Features:
  • Flexible V-Rigging - ideal for difficult girthing area
  • Adjustable knee-rolls
  • 6 D-rings for hacking and travel needs
  • Medium pommel insert - standard
  • Flexes in all 3 directions (X,Y,Z)
  • Barefoot VPS System provides channel for spinal clearance
  • Close contact; free and comfortable seating at the horse's center of gravity
  • 1.5" English Stirrup attachment piece (included) can be positioned as needed
  • Weighs approx. 13lbs alone
  • Thanks to the long and slightly wider flap with formed knee-rolls, the rider's leg is securely positioned in a dressage seat. Underneath this support, additional knee rolls - which are included in two different sizes - can be placed as desired thanks to Velcro fastening. Furthermore, as you ride and break in the saddle, the knee roll will conform to the rider's leg.

The Lexington is also available in a model with a shorter flap for riders with shorter legs. Click here.

    Saddle Trial Program
You can try the saddle for one week (7 days) after receiving the saddle to decide if its a good fit for you and your horse. Keep it clean, keep the tags. Ride in a controlled area, do not go on a trail ride. If you mark it up, scratch it, or damage it, you cannot return it. You cannot return a used saddle pad or girth/cinch. Use your own saddle pad to try the saddle if possible. If after one week you decide to return the saddle, you will be charged a $100 restocking fee and you pay to ship the saddle back to us. Comfortable for horse and rider.  My hard to fit quarter horse moves so much better in this saddle and I feel secure in the seat.

5 of 5 Excellent saddle especially for draft horses. May 13, 2020
Reviewer: Barbara Allen from Florence, TX United States
I am a long time FEI dressage rider, but at 60 plus I need a very comfortable saddle for my horses and me.  Also, my husband has a draft cross and of course finding a nice saddle to fit him was a challenge.  We just ordered our second barefoot dressage saddle.  Unbelievable value for the price and super comfortable.  Our horses love it, great freedom in the shoulder area.

    5 of 5 WOW!! October 16, 2011
Reviewer: Valerie McIntyre from Eureka California
I purchased a Lexington Dressage saddle and there are not words to describe how pleased I am with it. I tried it on my horse a couple of times..and it looked great and the fit was just as great. I hadn't sat in the saddle myself until today. If only my furniture at home was as comfortable! My trainer also sat on my horse with this saddle. We both had the same....'Ooohhh' when we found how good this saddle felt. It was not a cheap saddle but it is one of the best investments I have made! It took a while for me to find a saddle and I am glad I found this company. Their products are great, they are great to talk with and their service is superb!

5 of 5 Ode to My Barefoot Lexington, part 2 May 8, 2011
    Reviewer: Anonymous Person from USA
He sighed in relief, put his head down in delight,
Quit gnashing his teeth, and got all soft and light.
For me in the saddle, I can only exclaim,
It felt like cheating it was so easy to maintain
Correct balance, posture, and security did prevail,
For comfort of horse and rider was in every detail.
Deep lovely seat, perfect width in the twist,
Holy cow! Why can’t all saddles feel just like this?
The very next day, part two came to unfold,
When I felt his back over for sore spots untold.
None could be found, so onward I pressed,
Tacked, lunged, and remounted, he did not resist.

Once more, this cranky gelding relaxed in repose,
Got right to work and dove down through his nose.
Freed up his gaits and was light on his feet,
He was happy to move, and I was happy to seat.

What better end to this tale of equestrian forays,
Then sharing with folks who know of the glorys
Of riding in harmony, on horses who understand
That riding can be heaven for both beast and for man!

    Ode to My Barefoot Lexington

So I pledged alliegience to natural horsekeeping,
    Bitless riding, and barefoot hooftrimming.
Bought Barefoot Lexington for yon thoroughbred,
Ex-eventer with baggage, not quite right in the head.

Determined to find a more natural, healthful way,
(Fairly) young, and fearless, nothing did sway.
Happy trails, fun, and joyful partnership saught
Horse can’t wait to enjoy new adventures.  Not.

Grumpy and surly per usual as tack him I tried,
Though puzzled he was when no bit was applied.
First clue came whilst warming up on the lunge,
The second when upon him my body did plunge.

A moment of tension while choosing a response,
He still couldn’t resist bucking like a rodeo bronc.
The interesting part came after a hasty remount,
This challenging beast showed a quick turnabout.
