Barefoot Sheepskin Dressage Girths

This super soft Barefoot Sheepskin Dressage Girth will help with horses that have sensitive skin. It is made of two components: Genuine sheepskin and nylon. Sturdy velcro secures the two parts together, which allows you to remove the sheepskin for washing and slightly adjust the position of the girth on top of the sheepskin. Can be used with any treeless saddle with long billets and dressage saddles.

The sheepskin is slightly wider than the nylon to avoid chaffing. It is a great girth for sensitive skins areas and helps to avoid chaffing and pressure sores. Sheepskin also acts as a natural anti-allergen and minimizes fungal growth. Sheepskin is also breathable and wicks away moisture and sweat to help regulate humidity, especially in the summer.

The nylon has elastic on one end to allow your horse to breathe easily. The buckles are stainless steel.

To wash, detach sheepskin from the nylon. Hand wash in cold water gently with mild soap, lay flat to dry. Do not get sheepskin anywhere near the dryer.

Perfect for sensitive horses	Thursday, April 9, 2026
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Colorado, United States

Bought this girth to go with my new saddle, really wanted natural materials if possible. My gelding has always been a bit cinchy, but with this girth he does not hold his breath or protest when I tighten it. And his opinion matters way more than mine!

Sheepskin Girth	Tuesday, October 10, 2023
Reviewer: Janice Flaningan from Lizella, GA United States

I bought a new horse after the passing of my best girl. I love my Barefoot saddle and was very happy to find that after many years the girth I needed was available. Although out of stock in the US it took a bit longer to receive it, but it fits my new girl perfectly.

Bareback pad	Wednesday, December 4, 2019
Reviewer: Elizabeth from Clinton, TN United States

This pad is great quality and they have thought out the design well. I had another pad from another company but it did not fit well. It seemed to push on my horses withers and the strap from the nylon girth that went to the saddle was pushing into his sides which didn’t seem comfortable. This pad addressed both issues by thoughtful construction. We bought the BF girth and it feels great for me and my horse and puts me in a good position. You get what you pay for!
