Barefoot Cheyenne Drytex Treeless Saddles

The Barefoot Cheyenne Drytex Treeless Saddles are our favorite all around saddles made of Drytex, a water repellent faux leather (synthetic) with a slightly grained structure. This material is very light and can be cleaned with a just a wet sponge. The Barefoot Drytex Cheyenne Saddles are popular with trail and endurance riders, as the design of this saddle positions the rider in the horses center of gravity, providing close contact and freedom in the seat.

Features:
  • Weighs 11.5lbs alone
  • Made of easy-care Drytex material - synthetic leather
  • 6 D-rings to attach all your travel/riding gear
  • Soft fleece underside
  • Medium pommel insert - standard
  • Flexes in all 3 directions (X,Y,Z)
  • Barefoot® VPS System provides channel for spinal clearance
  • Close contact single flap; free seating at the horse's center of gravity
  • 1.5" English Stirrup Attachment Piece (included) can be positioned as needed
Ordering Note(s): Size 0 is considered special orders and takes approximately 12-14 weeks. We recommend using the corresponding Drytex stirrup straps, as the edges of the real leather straps could damage the saddle material.

See Sizing tab for more information! Click here for more information on the Barefoot Saddle systems.

NEW! For all vegan riders or those that want to abstain from leather products - we can order this Drytex saddle in black with biothane billets! This makes the saddle completely free of all animal products. Please order the Vegan Barefoot Cheyenne Drytex by phone, at 877-865-2467.

Care and cleaning of the Drytex saddle:
Barefoot Saddlery in Germany recommends cleaning the Drytex Saddle with only water and soft sponge or cloth. In the case of heavy soiling, you can use a mild soap. Do not use any cleaning products that are made for synthetics or plastic as they can damage the Drytex material.

Saddle Trial Program

You can try the saddle for one week (7 days) after receiving the saddle to decide if it’s a good fit for you and your horse. Keep it clean, keep the tags. Ride in a controlled area, do not go on a trail ride. If you mark it up, scratch it, or damage it, you cannot return it. You cannot return a used saddle pad or girth/cinch. Use your own saddle pad to try the saddle if possible. If after one week you decide to return the saddle, you will be charged a $100 restocking fee and you pay to ship the saddle back to us. If you would like to try a saddle for a week, give us a call 877-865-2467.

Great customer service April 1, 2019
Reviewer: Kristine Johnson from Montello, WI United States
I called and talked to Sarah a few times before making the purchase, she was informative, pleasant and patient while answering my questions and helping me make the best decision for my horse. I am very happy with the saddle and with the service I received.  Thank You!

Low quality materials and uncomfortable seat December 14, 2018
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Mebane, NC United States
The day the saddle arrived, I examined and sat in it. The fleece on the underside was falling out in tufts. The seat was uncomfortable, noisy and unstable. I was very disappointed that even though the saddle didn’t even get put on my horses back or have a speck of dirt on it, I had to pay a $100 restocking fee plus return shipping. I have done demos with $3000 saddles for less

What a difference! August 23, 2017
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
My Irish sport horse was really struggling with back soreness from my treed saddle.  His topline has become much stronger and more developed and he is much more comfortable holding his hind legs up for the farrier.  I also love to ride in it.

wonderful little saddle! March 20, 2016
Reviewer: Junia
I got this saddle quite a while ago, because it was the cheapest good one I could find. I've only recently gotten to use it more (my horse is in training). I really like it. I'm a hardcore bareback rider, and I honestly prefer to ride in this saddle vs bareback. My picky mare has no problems with it either. All in all, a wonderful saddle, and the lower price point just makes it that much better!

Amazing!! August 16, 2013
Reviewer: Karli from New Zealand
Bought this saddle a few months ago now, second hand sadly. I love it!! My 34 year old horse has high withers and quite a boney back (due to old age) and he doesn't seem to mind this saddle! He hates the treed saddles, and now he is a dream!! Although I have retired him now. The best saddle ever!
