Barefoot Lexington Treeless Dressage Saddles - Short Flap

The Barefoot Lexington Treeless Dressage Saddles - Short Flap models cater to the needs of smaller sized riders, who felt that the regular size Lexington's flap was too big. These Short Flap Lexingtons are exactly like the original Lexington model, just with a modified flap. An exclusive and innovative saddle in a classical Dressage design manufactured with soft nubuck leather.

Lexington Size 1 Short: Smaller, narrower saddle flap, recommended for riders up to size S/M and equivalent to an English saddle seat size of 16 - 16.5".
Lexington Size 2 Short: Smaller, narrower saddle flap, recommended for riders from size L and is equivalent to an English saddle seat size of 17 - 18".

  • Flexible V-Rigging - ideal for difficult girthing area
  • Weighs approx. 13lbs alone
  • Adjustable knee-rolls.
  • Soft nubuck leather in black.
  • 6 D-rings for hacking and travel needs
  • Medium pommel insert - standard
  • Flexes in all 3 directions (X,Y,Z)
  • Barefoot® VPS System provides channel for spinal clearance
  • Close contact; free and comfortable seating at the horse's center of gravity

Thanks to the design of the flap with formed knee-rolls, the rider's leg is securely positioned in a dressage seat. Underneath this support, additional knee rolls - which are included in two different sizes - can be placed as desired thank to Velcro fastening. Furthermore, as you ride and break in the saddle, the knee roll will conform to the rider's leg.

Ride in a controlled area, do not go on a trail ride. If you mark it up, scratch it, or damage it, you cannot return it. You cannot return a used saddle pad or girth/cinch. 2 of 5 Barefoot as a dressage saddle September 8, 2018
Reviewer: Mary Paschall from Sequim, WA United States
The construction of the saddle is good as well as the leather quality. Customer service outstanding. I am still making multiple adjustments to gain my balance. So, the ability to adjust the saddle stirrup and canter position is good. The Barefoot T-lock stirrups are dreadful. The T-lock under the saddle flap is very bulky. Make the stirrup loop a hook so the stirrup leather can slide on, this eliminates the need for a T-lock under my thigh. The T-locks at the stirrup end should slide between the leather layers. This prevents the T-lock from scratching my new saddle and boot. The leather protector supplied does not stay over the T-lock as it migrates up and the rivet stretches the saddle. It, too, is too bulky. I used vet wrap and the sleeve off my Wintec to solve the problem. I’d copy their design. In general, this is not a plug and play saddle. A lot of adjustments are needed to get proper dressage balance. Parked the saddle for now, may put it up for sale.
