The Barefoot Barrydale English Endurance Treeless Saddles

The Barefoot Barrydale English Treeless Saddles are particularly popular among Endurance and trail riders - strenuous up and down movement is no problem with this saddle! Helping your legs stay precisely positioned, the saddle stays secure, and the horse's back stays pressure free - a must, especially on long distance rides! The Barefoot Barrydale is made of open pore cowhide called nubuck. The use of this leather makes the saddle very pliable and adjustable on the horse's back. The leather is robust and easy to take care of due to its dirt repellent surface treatment.

The Barefoot V-billet design allows the girthing to self-adjust and distributes the pressure of the girth over the entire saddle. The position of the V-billets also positions the saddle directly over the horse's center of gravity, the perfect position for the horse to support the rider's weight.

  • Weighs 13lbs alone
  • Soft fleece underside in natural. Medium pommel insert standard.
  • Soft nubuck in black/grey or brown/hazelnut or solid black.
  • The seat is removable, with broad Velcro underside attachment.
  • Anatomically shaped knee rolls for a deep, secure seat
  • 9 D-rings to attach all your gear and travel needs
  • V-belting for greater girth adjustability
  • Standard medium pommel insert
  • Flexes in all 3 directions (X,Y,Z)
  • Barefoot® VPS System provides channel for spinal clearance
  • Close contact; free and comfortable seating at the horse's center of gravity
  • 1.5" English Stirrup attachment piece (included) can be positioned as needed

Saddle Trial Program
You can try the saddle for one week (7 days) after receiving the saddle to decide if it’s a good fit for you and your horse. Keep it clean, keep the tags. Ride in a controlled area, do not go on a trail ride. If you mark it up, scratch it, or damage it, you cannot return it. You cannot return a used saddle pad or girth/cinch. Use your own saddle pad to try the saddle if possible. If after one week you decide to return the saddle, you will be charged a $100 restocking fee and you pay to ship the saddle back to us. If you would like to try a saddle for a week, Message us sales@barefootsaddlesusa.com

5 of 5 Mindblowing! September 21, 2022
Reviewer: Chantal from KwaZulu Natal, South Africa
Whilst looking for the ultimate saddle that can fir all horses I trialed a Barefoot Barrydale.
Initially I struggled with the positioning of the stirrup attachment but after moving it forward and shortening my stirrups slightly I hit the ultimate level of comfort! Aside from my position improving drastically my 14.3hh horse's movement has never been better, and despite his extremely short-coupling he moves like a 17hh warmblood with this saddle. Our new-found freedom is absolutely incredible.
My only regret is that I wish I had gone Barefoot sooner!

I have been riding for 40 years. Dressage, mostly. This is the most comfortable saddle I have ever owned and believe me, I’ve been through a lot of them! My horse is very happy  with it too!  I highly recommend this saddle!!

5 of 5 Enjoying my new saddle November 17, 2015
Reviewer: Lorraine Stubbins from Princeton, BC
I have had my Barefoot Barrydale Saddle for weeks now and it is conforming nicely to my shape. I moved the stirrup hanger forward about an inch to bring the thigh blocks into contact with my leg. I like the balance it puts me in. The cantle supports very well on our terrain, steep ups and downs. I put it to the test when i went out for a fast hack riding my big Irish mare and ponying our Akhal-teke gelding. They were feeling fresh in the cold and we did lots of fast long canters. Even with a bit of "monkey-business" the saddle stayed in the middle and I felt secure. My mare is feeling happy to do a big power trot so it must feel good on her shoulders. I like the fact that under my grandeur under pad, I used a liner, a thin cotton baby pad, it came away with a long dry centre strip around the wither gullet area.

We bought my partner a barely used Cherokee and he is enjoying it on his Akhal-teke gelding. Off to the desert we go in January to put some serious trail miles on.
