5 of 5 Secure for me comfortable for my pony October 27, 2023
Reviewer: Halle Strausser from Pine River, MN United States
This is my 14th attempt at some sort of saddle/pad/combo for my spare parts pony(welsh/tb)

He is what I lovingly refer to as a mullet. tall and narrow in the front of his rib cage and wither then abruptly switches to the broad flat shape of a cob in the middle. To top it off, his back is remarkably short and has a sway like a hammock.

This bareback pad is the only thing that hasn't made him sore. Bonus; it's extremely secure for the rider as well. I've been riding through all maner of green horse squirreliness without any trouble. Feels more secure than a barrel or dressage saddle even.

5 of 5 This ends a decade-long search March 16, 2023
Reviewer: Carmen M Allen-Henke from Charlottesville, VA United States
I got my Welsh-Arabian mare, Athena, back in 2014, to be my 2nd endurance horse. Little did I know that because of her extremely-odd-shaped conformation, I would be searching for a saddle and girth combination (that didnt gall her or slip all over the place) for nearly a decade. I had gone through nearly 20 saddles, from treeless to treed to custom to basic bareback pads. Nothing worked. I have been riding her bareback for years now, or in a Parelli bareback pad when we trail ride in the mountains (for better grip), but even that would irritate her after a while. Participating in LD endurance riding was out of the question.

We finally found something that works for both of us. The Barefoot Physio pad with the firm inserts has changed our life; now we can go any distance without either of us being in pain or slipping around. Now we can enter our first LD ride, instead of just riding drag. I may be a little dramatic, but I am crying with happiness. THANK YOU, Barefoot Saddles.

5 of 5 LOVE THIS PAD March 9, 2021
Reviewer: Shayleigh Evans from Cunningham, TN United States
I don’t usually write reviews but this pad warrants one. It’s totally worth the money. I love that the billets are long and attach to a regular dressage girth. I put it on a square pad like a saddle and I can canter and trail ride in it (on hills) with no slipping. It’s so secure, comfortable, and my horses (all 3 large withered OTTBS) are totally cool with it. Everyone needs one!

4 of 5 Almost the best bareback saddle ever! October 25, 2020
Reviewer: Faith Prettyman from Weaverville, NC United States
Love this bareback pad! I ride several different horses with it and it not only fits all of them, but even my horse with a sensitive back seems to prefer this over his regular treed saddle. I love the close contact feel, extra cushion for my rear end, the open channel and protection for my horse's spine, and I definitely feel more safe and secure with the polley-like knee blocks and high cantle. My only complaint is that I would prefer for the bucking strap/handle to be tighter so that it anchors me down better. Other than that, great product and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their seat safely and get a better feel for their horse.

5 of 5 This bareback pad is great March 21, 2019
Reviewer: Zoe Van Block from Sedona, AZ United States
It took me a while to get used to the position this bareback pad puts me in, I am not used to riding in dressage saddles so I had to adjust but once I did it was amazing. My horse moves so nicely in it, I can especially notice more movement in her shoulders since this pad doesn't restrict her at all. It doesn't slip and keeps the rider secure and centered on the horse. I was especially pleased to see after a long ride there was NO sweat on my mares spine and even sweat marks on either side, it does a great job of keeping pressure of their spine as described!
