Barefoot Lazy Mountain - Western Treeless Sheepskin Saddle
The Barefoot Lazy Mountain is a luxurious treeless fur saddle designed for riders who want maximum comfort while maintaining the proven Barefoot saddle structure. Built with the Barefoot VPS (Vertebrae Protection System), the saddle distributes the rider's weight across a larger surface while allowing the horse's back to move freely and develop naturally.
The Lazy Mountain was developed based on rider feedback from those who wanted the comfort of a genuine sheepskin saddle without compromising the horse's back health. The saddle adapts to the horse's movement while preventing pressure points under the stirrup attachment.
The seat is exceptionally soft with thick foam padding and genuine sheepskin that surrounds the rider in a secure and comfortable seat, making long rides especially enjoyable.
Genuine Sheepskin Comfort
This product is made from real sheepskin. Sheepskin has a temperature-regulating effect - both in cold and in warm weather - and is easy to clean. Simply brush out dirt with a soft brush. Sheepskin seats provide the rider with a comfortable, softer seat.

Rider Position Guide
Treeless saddles encourage a balanced seat because there is no rigid tree positioning the rider automatically. Riders transitioning from traditional treed saddles may notice that the seat feels different at first and may need a short adjustment period while developing balance and core stability.
The Lazy Mountain offers an especially secure seat thanks to the soft foam and sheepskin padding that surrounds the rider comfortably while maintaining close contact with the horse.
Barefoot Saddle System
All Barefoot saddles perform best when used as part of a saddle system with a suitable Barefoot saddle pad and inserts. This helps distribute rider weight evenly and maintain proper spinal clearance for the horse.
A soft, anatomically shaped cushion is secured (velcro) under the genuine sheepskin seat. This makes the seat even more comfortable and easier on the hips as it gives the saddle more of a twist ensuring the rider does not sit too wide.
The thigh support and the cantle support at the back of the seat are made of foam - there is no stiff, hard cantle at the back of the seat.
Real sheepskin is used for the seat of the Barefoot Lazy Mountain, the Happy Valley and the Soft Walk Fur Saddles. Sheepskin has many good properties as a natural product. The sheepskin ensures an even temperature, absorbs moisture instantly and releases it 7 times faster than synthetic fibers. Sheepskin naturally has a disinfecting property, is odor-neutralizing and dirt-repellent. This self-cleaning power is amplified in the fresh air so it is beneficial to remove it from the base and shake it out sometimes. This reduces dust and dirt and airs out the fur at the same time. To remove more intensive dirt you can gently comb out first and if needed rub with a wet cloth. The coat is durable and stays beautiful for many years.
If the sheepskin seat should become completely soaked with water, it should be taken off the saddle and drying separately. Do not dry in the sun or on the heater because this will make the fur brittle.

Saddle Trial Program
You can try the saddle for one week (7 days) after receiving the saddle to decide if it's a good fit for you and your horse.
Keep it clean, keep the tags. Ride in a controlled area, do not go on a trail ride. If you mark it up, scratch it, or damage it, you cannot return it.
You cannot return a used saddle pad or girth/cinch. Use your own saddle pad to try the saddle if possible.
If after one week you decide to return the saddle, you will be charged a $150 restocking fee and you pay to ship the saddle back to us.
